The Objectification of Stuff

So one of K’s new-favorite-shows is Science/Discovery’s How It’s Made, which consists of 5-15 minute mini-documentaries of (surprisingly enough) how various items are manufactured, wrapped, etc.

I also have to recommend a slightly more upscale stuff-related documentary, “Objectified.” Check out the trailer here.

So, I should have commented on this when you first posted, but “How It’s Made” is the coolest show in the world. Kirsten thinks I’m insane, but it’s amazing to see things swirling at high speed through an assembly line.

The only problem is that “Brooks Moore” or whoever writes the text for his voiceover obviously isn’t a scientist. Some of the flubs are kind of cringe-worthy.

I’m pretty sure that the blame lies with the script-writers, not the voiceman himself. I think there have been a few spots where you can kinda hear him say “wait, that ain’t right.”

Either way, a pretty darn cool show. And probably pretty low on production costs, I’d think. Certainly don’t have to pay lots of actors or deal with multiple takes, etc.
