Whenever I see something and my first reaction is an out-loud laugh, more than a chuckle, I have to consider posting it.

Admittedly, I’m probably thesis-writing impaired and it’s not that funny, but oh well.

Can’t say I laughed out loud, but it is an awfully cute kitty, which makes up for it.

Well, I think a lot of it is thesis-writing-impairment. You can also run into a similar mental health problem on the 4th day of solo observing runs. No worries though, it’s temporary.
There’s definitely something funny about lolcatz. I was in Kirsten’s office a few weeks ago waiting for her to get ready to go so we could drive back up to MD and I spent some time making my own lolcat on her whiteboard. I didn’t have a photo, so I drew a cat and then went with “In UR office, steelin’ UR secrets”. It’s funny for a couple of reasons ranging from the fact that corporate espionage is something they have to worry about to the fact that my drawing skill resulted in a cat that was little more than a stick figure. I was tired, but it was still hella funny. Even funnier since she forgot to erase it and got several emails from her employees the next week saying “What does the thing on the whiteboard mean?”

Yes, I’m sure I’d have been rolling on the floor if I had seen it during a run.

A friend of mine wrote a nice online tool for making lolcats:

Handy if you’re at an internet cafĂ© in the developing world and want to post something on icanhascheezburger, but the computer doesn’t have any image processing software…hey, it could happen.
