Driving through VA, WV, and TN
Monday, July 16th, 2007So, the drive from Baltimore to TN was pretty uneventful, probably in large part because I left about 4 hours late and therefore did a lot of driving in the dark.
There were a couple of interesting observations.
1) Newmarket, VA. The site where an entire college student body chose a side in the civil war and helped turn a battle around resulting in the last confederate victory in western Virginia.
2) A stop at a Burger King – gas station where not one employee had all their front teeth and a really suspicious number of people were wearing denim shorts.
3) A rest stop somewhere close to Bristol, VA, where a dad was repeatedly asking his child “Why did you CRAP in your pants? Why didn’t you tell me you had to go so we could do something? Why did you have to CRAP in your pants? Do you have to CRAP more?” followed shortly later by “No, don’t step in that… great, now we have to wash your feet.”
