Election Day Activities

Monday, November 6th, 2006

For people who are interested in supporting the Democratic effort tomorrow, there are lots of good activities available (Get Out the Vote, Election Monitoring, Visibility (i.e., waving signs), etc). Probably the best way to get involved is to just stop by or call the local VT or NH Democratic campaign headquarters:

NH Dems (603) 448-7171

The NH office is on the lower side of the mall in downtown Lebanon.

VT Dems (802) 999 2050

The VT office is accross from Aubuchon hardware in White River Junction.

Also, for people living in NH my understanding is that you can register and vote at the same time.

Movie Reviews

Monday, November 6th, 2006

It’s been a while since we’ve had anyone review a movie, so here goes…

Kirsten and I planned to see Borat on Friday night but didn’t realize that the theater might be sold out, so we saw “Flushed Away” instead. I’m not sure that it’s a requirement that you see it in a theater, but it was a very cute flick and you should see it at some point. The best part of the movie was all the little slugs that were in the sewers. It’s perhaps a sign that I’m too much of a physicist, but their inefficiency in moving was just about the funniest thing I’ve seen on film.

We finally saw Borat on Sunday afternoon and there’s not much to say. Everyone needs to see it. It’s horribly offensive to everyone and absolutely perfect. I was a little bit worried about the anti-semetism given the fact that the entire row in front of us was filled by a large Jewish family, but they seemed to enjoy it as much as anyone else. So, definitely a must-see and you will all be amazed by the wrestling scene. :)

Bush challenges Democrats to offer plan for Iraq

Monday, November 6th, 2006

Ok, I have to admit that I didn’t come up with this myself…

But to paraphrase:
GW: “We need to ask the democrats ‘What’s your plan?’.”
Audience: [yelling] “What’s your plan?”

Very good question indeed. What is your plan GW?
