Ann Coulter going to jail?

Friday, November 3rd, 2006

No, not for being a neo-nazi psycho bitch queen, or for plagarising a whole book, or for saying that the wives of 9/11 heroes were “enjoying their husbands deaths”…

but for voting in the wrong precinct.  It ain’t gonna happen (she’s hired Bush’s Florida 2000 recount lawyer) but one can hope…

Not of politics exactly, but since the republican party has largely been hijacked by fundamentalist Christians this fits.

The question: Why, if you’re a minister of a mega-church, would you want to protest against gay marriage?

Rosa Brooks: Was Kerry right? – Los Angeles Times

It really brings to mind a huge question, “How have things gotten so fucked up?” Just go back five years to September 15, 2001. We’d had a horrible attack on our country, but we were united and the world was united with us. Even the French were proclaiming “We are all Americans.” In the five years since we’ve managed to divide the world, bring down the British government, become entrenched in a foreign civil war, and divide our own country. What are the history books going to say about the 2000s? I’m sure that it will be damning.

Ball Cap Sale!

Friday, November 3rd, 2006

Just FYI, for those of y’all looking to replace or acquire an Dartmouth logo baseball cap of your own:

The Dartmouth Co-Op store is having a sale for today only: all baseball caps are 1/3 off – down from the near-absurd $17.95 to a much more reasonable $12.

Since my old Trinity cap was getting close to being on its last legs (being held together in the back with waterproof bandage tape wasn’t going to keep up for long…), I went ahead and picked one up.

Go Big Green! :P
