Way too much time on his hands

Some old guy in Japan memorized Pi to 100,000 decimal places. It took him 16 hours to recite it… who are these people?

I fixed the link, Jeff.
but yeah, seriously, that’s kinda on the crazy side. I memorized Pi to 10 digits or something way back when, but that’s because the classroom had a big banner of Pi running all the way around the room. Hmmm, maybe that’s not the best endorsement of my geometry teacher.

hahaha. these people are among us, we need to be vigilent. my ta for engs20 last spring memorised all the values of base 2 numbers up to 2^64 or some other riduculous number…. for fun on a flight. i guess the movie wasn’t all that great.

Yeah, my experience was much like Michael’s – boring class, but awesome banner of pi circumnavigating the room. Totally kept me occupied.
3.1415926535… and then I forget, which is a good thing.

.8979 and that’s all i got, and that was a good 15 years ago. so yeah.
and Jenn, that had to be a seriously crappy in-flight movie. Then again, we are talking about an ENGS TA…

don’t remember if we had the pi banner in my trig class. i did have a scientific calculator, so once my 3 friends and i compared our answers, while the teacher was still reviewing the first problem or so, i taught myself binary, octal, and hexidecimal.
