Post-deadline Sox trade

In a deal that was made more dicey because of having to pass through waivers, the Sox acquired catcher Javy Lopez from the Orioles, giving them another option with Varitek out. Lopez isn’t the All-Star he was with the Braves, but he’s still a nice catch with Boston giving up only cash and Mr. NamedLater in return. I’m assuming it means Huckaby will be sent back down to the Pawsox, but dunno who we’re gonna give up.

I’ve heard the rumor is the PTNBL will be either Alejandro Machado or Adam Stern. However the Devil Rays may be trying to put a wrench in the works.
