Tuesday Oddball Story Roundup

Fluffle-Kerfuffle! Apparently, there are two competing camps down in Mass.: those who think the Fluffernutter should be the official Commonwealth sandwich, and other who demand that it be banned from the school cafeteria menus.

Also of note: heroic dogs are cool. I really like the fact that she licks her owner’s nose to diagnose his blood sugar.

Finally, the Sox are currently up 6-0 in the top of the third, and the Nationals starting pitcher only went 1.2 innings deep! :)

While I personally think the fluffernutter is kinda gross, it’s kinda silly to ban the thing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a more responsible menu for America’s youth, but if you’re gonna start working on a more healthy diet, how about eliminating soda machines, or make them eat a healthy breakfast – a poptart or bowl of oreo cereal doesn’t count as “nutritious”.

on a more positive note, that’s pretty slick with the whole “Lassie dials 911″ thing. I was curious how the pup could get 9-1-1, but even just dialing 9 is a nice bit of training…

11-1 aint’ bad, either. nice to get an easy win, and this while resting Manny and Varitek, etc.

and now being up 2 games over the yanks (according to ESPN today) … last time i looked the yanks had taken the lead by a game or two, so it’s good to see they’re getting their shit together.

Hmm, I really like fluffernutter. It makes me think of the east coast since I only used to get it when I was visiting my aunt in CT. I don’t think I’ve actually eaten a fluffernutter sandwich since I actually moved out here though.

Side note: the marshmallow cream that you get on the west coast (made by Kraft and in a glass jar) is better than the actually “fluff” brand stuff. The whole plastic tub method of packaging it just kind of disturbs me.

i’ve never had a fluffernutter. i’ve only recently (i.e. last year) broken my “no marshmallow in my food except for smores or plain marshmallows” rule with “phish food”.

and ortiz just hit a grand slam while i was typing this comment.
