Conspiracy theories

Has anyone seen the 911 Loose Change video? I just watched it, originally thinking, “oh, what are people complaining about now?”, but honestly…..I found it surprisingly convincing. Particularly the analysis of the Pentagon impact, the footage of the WTC collapse, slowed down to show the explosions well below where the collapse debris had reached, and the numerous reports of explosions before the collapse occurred. If you’ve got an hour and 20 minutes (plus download time), give it a shot. I’m curious what everyone thinks. Am I just gullible?

Allow me, if you will to point out where your argument fails for me:
“If you’ve got an hour and 20 minutes (plus download time)”
It’s those 2 hours that I just can’t spare right now. And, while I’d like to examine this for myself int he future, it’s very likely that, by the time I get around to it, I will have forgotten about it. At any rate, the Wikipedia article about all this is an interesting read.
All that being said, for the sake of full disclosure, I will point out that I’m generally a pretty firm skeptic about such things.

I’m not saying i buy all of it. but the some of the video does look kinda suspect. i don’t remember enough from “anatomy of a collapse” to really refute the collapse video to myself. i’ll check out the article.
ok, ok. i admit. i enjoy a good conspiracy theory now and then. i AM gullible. there’s probably nothing to it.

I spotted this video a few weeks ago m’self. After viewing it I gave some of the claims some thought, including the slow motion bit of the collapse of the towers. It came to me mind that there were two distinct possible reasons for the flashes and and debris ejecta.
1. There were explosives rigged to take the building down
2. The rain of debris inside the building began before the debris on the outside began to fall.
The plausability for the second option is there. Back in the day of buildings the like Empire State building, skyscrapers were built out of iron grids all the way through the building. Very sturdy, but very expensive. Also having support beams on the interior reduced floor space as there is a need to have collams everywhere. In a modern skyscraper the super structure is a bit different, centering most of the support on the exterior walls. This forms a series of cages, with one cage per floor. There is also usually a collem in the center for an elevator bank.
Now its concievable then that the impact of the plane damaged the integrity of the floor/cieling on a single level enough for it to break free from the exterior super structure. If this process happened even once it could lead to the floor below it to give way on impact. Suddenly you have the interior of the building falling in onitself and for the moment, the exterior super structure still intact. But with each successive floor collapse, the exteior walls are pulled inward, weaking and eventually snapping the supports there. So moments after the floor falls through, the exterior wall collapses, bringing everything that was above straight down.
This process results in a ‘controled’ collapse as the building collapses straight down instead of falling over or collapsing to the side. The exterior walls guide the collapse straight down and creates an internal collapse that races ahead of the exterior collapse.
On the other hand, if it was a demolition sparked by a conspiracy of some sort, they might know this. :-p
But anyway, a well done conspiracy theory is always entertaining or occasionally, very frightening when it turns out to be true.
