The Daily Wingnut, Issue #4

Friday, April 7th, 2006  determined

While I know some folks don’t think that chiropractors are practicing real medicine, I tend to believe that some of them, at least, know what they’re doing in terms of the broader medical context and have sufficient training to practice without placing their patients at risk of serious injury. (Disclaimer: In addition to my own one-time experience with lower back injury, my dad’s years of manual labor have given him a host of problems that necessitate the regular use of chiropractic services that are part of a larger pain management clinic that includes neurologists, physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, etc.)

All that being said, though, this John Burda fellow is “practicing” something far more harmful than mere bunk science with his Bahlaqeem. Bilking people out of their hard-earned money with promises of wonderous technological moneymakers is one thing; preying on those who suffer from chronic pain and treating them with questionable methods that could lead to injury or worse is downright sinister.

Mr. John Burda, if I ever have the chance to meet you in person, sir, you may well need the services of an state-certified, properly trained, and licensed chiropractor by the time I’m done with you. Fortunately for you, I’m rather the pacifist, so the above threat is a (mostly) hollow one that serves primarily to vent my frustrations with the likes of you. However, you can rest assured that if I ever did meet you, you would be leaving the encounter after having a heapin’ helpin’ of the fear of God put into you, courtesy of the good old-fashioned “come to Jesus” meeting I’d hold in you honor.

1. Undergrads will expand to fill the allowed volume.

Um, that’s all I really have right now. I could use some collaborators on this one.
