Hockey!

Tuesday, February 21st, 2006

for those who aren’t tied to their lab, there’s lots of Olympic hockey on tomorrow (mostly MSNBC and CNBC I think, the former is on DarTV) and y’all should check it out… this is the medal round, and it’s really a fast/fun game, different than the NHL of the past decade.

Newsvine

Tuesday, February 21st, 2006

Newsvine is a new and possibly cool news site. For those of you who love reading news, maybe this site is interesting to you….. I kind of like reading news, but still easily get lost in English news…..Other than reading news, you can seed news, and you can even have your own column there which might be able to make you some money$_$

This site needs invitation to sign up now, I have 20 invites. So tell me the email address if you want to have a look.

Now Newsvine is a run of the mill news website and more. News from the Associated Press automatically gets added, so it’s like CNN.com. Users can “seed” articles they find online, so it’s like Digg. Users can also write articles, so it’s like a blog. All these are blended together to get an amazing website with a plethora of intersting things to read.

I know Nathaniel’s gonna want this – a virtual keyboard: No words can adequately describe quite how breathtakingly cool this i.Tech Virtual Keyboard is. Bluetooth enabled, it uses infrared to project a clear and crisp keyboard onto your desktop, and then transfers your keystrokes via wireless networking to your PDA, Pocket PC or smart phone.

or, maybe for Nick, a belt-buckle bottle opener?

or for Chris, racing nuns.

and finally, for your peace of mind, a free-trade, guilt-free spanking paddle. (heard about this one on the Geoff show, home of that famous feature, “drunk vs. stoned”.)

Ok, wtf…

So, I doubt many of you have read either of Frank Miller’s Batman comics, but I just had to bring this up. His two previous books haven’t exactly been freindly with “the man”, so I am curious about this new comic. I mean, fighting Al Qaida isn’t neccessarily pandering to shrub and his cronies, but it seems a little too close for me.
