Hook ‘Em, ‘Horns! (Redux)

Alright, y’all, let’s get set to stomp some Trojan butt.

Woo! UT!

Hook ‘Em, ‘Horns!

In case anybody was wondering where my loyalties might be for this year’s Rose Bowl.

EDIT: One more thing: Bevo is a way better mascot than this goofy guy.

I’m with Sen. John McCain…

…on this whole torture “policy” bullshit our Dear Illegitimate Leader and his team of scheming cronies keep trying to force upon us.

While reading through this article in Slate that deals with Albert Camus’s reaction to the French torture practices used during the Algerian War and compares our current situation to that of the French of just 50 years ago. While reading the article, I was reminded of the conversations Joel, Scott, and I had when we went to protest outside of the “debate” about the same subject held here on campus back in the recent Fall term.

Fortunately for us Americans, it looks like the Senate has fallen in step behind McCain on the torture issue, but volumes can be spoken about the fact that our “elected” leadership would even consider trying to bills providing for Congressionally-sanctioned torture in the lawbooks.

Maybe it’s just the fact that I’m being boiled out of my office by our lovely radiator-on-steroids system that’s making me look for things to get riled up about; I dunno. I think I should go read up on my Camus, though; he sounds like a guy I could learn a lot from…

Mac Question

Wednesday, January 4th, 2006

Okay, so I realized that I shouldn’t have to go along with the low standards I’ve learned by working with PC’s… my new powerbook regularly will have an audio hiccup, where whatever is playing will “skip/repeat” for about two seconds, sounding a lot like a scratched cd will skip. This happens with DarTV, iTunes, etc. Any suggestions? It pretty much sucks and seems moderately unacceptable.
