Thank heavens for first-years

Posted by Holly.

I stupidly locked my keys, which I left on my desk instead of in my pocket, in my office when I went to leave at ~10pm. Fortunately the first-year office was well-populated, and I was able to get a key off of James. Thank heavens for the same locks on most doors, as well.

It is pretty handy that all of our keys open almost all of our offices. I wonder how much less handy it’d be though if things started disappearing.

Yeah, our office is the same lock as our lab, which is different than the common sub-master that everybody has. Makes me feel a little more secure about stuff left in the office.

Plus, there’s someone from our group around almost all the time anyways.

This morning, I read this as “Thank heaven for little girls”

and then my mind went into song… it is a wierd little song though.

:D that was the intent. i almost used “thank heaven for little first-years” but thought that could seem a wee bit offensive.

Well I do have long gorgious locks… but I think the beard sets me apart from most little girls.
