GAH! The Flyers let go John LeClair! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! And he went to Pittsburgh!!

And they’ve signed Peter Forsberg, who had been involved in the trade for Eric Lindros way back in the early 90s. God, has it really been that long? I feel old.

And what the hell happened to Mark Recchi!? No. of players I recall having seen play a game? 5. Brashear, Desjardins, Gagne, Primeau, and Therien. Man do I feel out of touch.

Yeah, I was really bummed when I learned that they let Johnny go. :( That was a while ago I think, but I hadn’t seen that he’d signed with Pittsburgh – good pickup for them, they need some muscle/skill.

Forsberg was a good signing if he stays healthy. Not sure about Recchi, I think he’s with the Pens now as well.

Forsberg?!?! Not an Av?!?!? Mother fucking ass holes, what do they think they are doing stealing my boy? Fuckers.

Yup, looks like Recchi’s with Pitt as well. Funny, that’s where he started. What are the Flyers with neither Recchi nor LeClair? *sigh* The Penguins used to be my “playoff team”. I don’t want to bail on the Flyers, but so many of my favorites are elsewhere now.

the post-lockout NHL will have most fans struggling with the same problem, since so many big names were salary-cap casualties. It’s basically as though three or four seasons worth of free-agency moving were condensed into the past two months; some teams entered the period with as few as four (4) players under contract. My attitude is the same as before – I root for the Bruins and Flyers and any Canadian team, but also for my favorite players. Still sucks to see Johnny leave, though.

oh, and for those interested, Panger has a useful little article commenting on what, if any, effect the new rule changes will have.
