How difficult would adding a new post category be?

Again, this is the sort of thing I’m ill-euqipped to help with, much less make and estimate of how to go about it.

At any rate, if it’s something easy to do, I’d like to petition for the addition of a “political” category for posts. Admittedly, many of them are often posted in such a tone as to qualify for “bitching”, but it seems like we should have a distinct category that denotes informed, thoughtful political discourse.
