Two rants about television

There are two music videos currently out in top-20 rotation that you all really need to see.
The Pussycat Dolls – “Don’t cha” and Jessica Simpson – “These boots were made for walkin’”
Anyway, both of them are just totally about sex (the videos, not necessarily the songs) but the Jessica Simpson one just goes way the hell overboard. She’s giving Paris Hilton a run for her money. The Pussycat Dolls at least have a catchy tune to back them up instead of taking a classic and changing a few phrases to have something to kinda sorta do with the movie you just made. Willie Nelson’s on the song too and I’m just as disappointed with him even if he isn’t wearing a small red bikini and washing the General Lee.
Side note: apparently I have some subconscious anti-semetism going on. As a child I used to think the lyric was “these boots are going to walk all over Jews.” Like I thought it was a Nazi propaganda song or something like that.

i’ve only seen a clip of the jessica simpson video, and the remake of the song is appallingly bad. as for the video, well, yeah. i can’t say i’m surprised, though i am rather saddened that i’m not surprised.

so, i went to itunes to check out the videos, and i’ve noticed that when you click on “sort by artist”, it sorts alphabetically by FIRST name, if it’s just a lone artist and not a band. excuse me? when did sorting alphabetically start using first names? isn’t it the last name that’s more important, such as with authors?

I didn’t see either of the videos in iTunes. The Jessica Simpson one might show up tomorrow though.
Oh, and I discovered an interesting flaw in iTunes. You can’t play the music videos if you’re using a static IP address. If the address is assigned by DHCP it works fine.
With my computer I can go to network setting and make it work, then not work, then work again. I’ve settled for just not being able to play the movies at work since I like being parallax too much.

yeah, i didn’t find them on there either. weird that you can’t play them from a static IP. i’ll have to try that at work tomorrow.
