soda! soda!
looks like, from the map, i’m on the edge of the soda-people. of course, i’m suspicious of all the western pa data. what’d they do, survey the deer?

From their analysis, Alabama is definitely in the “Coke” region, which I would have easily guessed.
What their survey fails to include is that unique “deep in the heart of Texas” phenomenon where folks get asked, “Would y’all like a Coke?”, to be followed with the delivery of a Dr. Pepper as the default carbonated beverage if no prefence is given.
Ask for a “Coke”, get a Dr. Pepper. Only in Texas, people.

Heh, I didn’t know that. From my Kentucky time, I was familiar with “do you want a Coke” and they then either ask “what kind” or give you sprite/sarsparilla/root beer/mr pibb/etc, but not the Dr. Pepper being the default.
