there's nothing more frustrating than being lectured by one's advisor for some issue that you feel is actually their fault.

  1. basically I'm often caught in the middle, where he says "design this part", then I do so, even come up with a prototype based on advice from other people, then bring it back to him and it's unsatisfactory, so I am then sent back to the machine shop to consult with the guys there... it's just inefficient, and then I get blamed for a lack of productivity.

    ok, done whining now. i just feel like sometimes i've given only enough rope to hang myself...

  2. You can look at the positive side... at least he cares that you're doing work.
