i have yet to figure out whether i just suck, or am unlucky, or a combination of both. i think the sample size may be too small, but most nights i leave feeling that i didn't misplay too many hands, and yet i'm more often down a few bucks at least.

  1. In the poker book I was reading before Christmas they did some models and found that players who used exactly the same strategy didn't end up evening out their winnings for well over a thousand hands. It'll even out. Chris can't win all the time.

  2. nice try Nathaniel. he sucks all the same, and we know it.

that said, the relatively long characteristic time inherent to poker has some interesting ramifications and invites some analysis. the argument above essentially states that one has to stick to one's guns for a long and potentially debt-inducing period, and that deviations from policy must be avoided... so does this mean that the world is now going to hell just because rumsfeld has been losing his shirt in dubya's weekly hold 'em nights?
